WELCOME TO BARNSHAW SMITHY

Hello and welcome to Barnshaw Smithy. We are a characterful café and eatery set in the stunning Cheshire countryside serving up a range of home-made breakfast and lunches, and hot and cold drinks.

Situated between the picturesque Cheshire villages of Mobberley and Ashley, you can pop in for a healthy or hearty breakfast, a spot of lunch (including daily specials) or a hot or cold drink of your choice. Our trained chef prepares food daily to ensure each and every meal or snack is 100% fresh.

We also have a selection of reclaimed furniture and antiques on site for you to browse through and buy at your leisure.

RE-OPENING - 4th JULY 2020 COVID-19 STATEMENT

Dear Friends,

We hope you have all managed to keep well & positive during the recent weeks. We have missed you and are looking forward to welcoming you back at Barnshaw Smithy.

We have been busy working out what will be our new normal. Our interior will look a little different as we are working to the guidelines set out by the government to help keep our visitors and staff safe, but it will be the same friendly staff and good food to enjoy on your visit.

VISITING US

Please do not enter our premises if you feel unwell.

You will have to wait to be seated inside or outside. This is because the tables and chairs will have to be wiped down in between customers .

Queueing can take place outside or you can wait in your car for an available table if it’s raining.

We are required to take your name and telephone number and have to keep this for 21 days. This is to assist the governments Test and Trace initiative.

There will be a station with hand gel, please use it on entering but still avoid touching surfaces where possible.

GATHERINGS

“Indoor gatherings should only be occurring in groups of up to two households (including support bubbles) while outdoor gatherings should only be occurring in groups of up to two households (or support bubbles), or a group of at most six people from any number of households.”

We are asking our visitors to observe these guidelines when booking a table.

SOCIAL DISTANCING

“2m, or 1m with risk mitigation where 2m is not viable, is acceptable”

Our chairs and Tables will be set out within these guidelines.

If you need to queue please do so within these guidelines, remembering not all people are comfortable with you stood 1 m away when 2 m is possible.

Also if looking at our cake counter or queuing to place a takeaway order at the till please remember to stand 2 m away if possible.

Be Alert!

GENERAL

High contact surfaces such as door handles and the loo will be regularly cleaned.

Good air circulation/ventilation is encouraged, therefore doors and windows may be propped open.

We will constantly monitor our new system to improve it where necessary , but for now we look forward to seeing you very soon.
